This product is saving me from the gravity game. Gravity game you may ask? If you haven't had your baby do this yet, beware. It will start sooner than you suspect. The gravity game is when your child throws or drops something for the cheap thrill of watching you pick it up. They can do this all day! It never gets dull!

Nipple Confusion. I Don't Think So.
Nipple confusion? Not my son. Aiven has perfect nipple clarity. Straight from the womb he knew the difference between my nipple, a bottle, and a pacifier (which we call a pippy in our household).
Everyone weighed in on this topic and the consensus was that we should be concerned. He might not want to breastfeed! He may become too dependent on the pippy! Ho hum. My husband and I would lock eyes and not say anything. What was the point? Everyone was convinced they were right. It drove us a little meshuga at first, and then we just let it roll off our backs. We didn’t want to get dragged into a major debate with our family and friends.

Orange Bike, The Trilogy: Part Three
Orange Bike, The Trilogy: Part One
Orange Bike, The Trilogy: Part Two
Alex finally put the bike together properly, and we got on the waiting list for a berth in our building basement to store it. In the interim, Alex locked it up outside directly across the street from our front entrance.
It was a Friday when the weather finally cooperated enough for Alex to ride his bike to work. He was beaming triumphantly when he got home. I was happy to see him happy.
The next morning, I went out to run some errands. It was dark and steamy and rain was imminent. Not a good day for a bike ride.

Not Pregnant After All
My last post ended ambiguously because although my pregnancy test was positive, I kept spotting. In the next 36 hours, I took several more home pregnancy tests. With each additional test, that beautiful, hopeful pink line became lighter and lighter until it was gone.
I wasn’t surprised. Somewhere deep inside, I felt it wasn’t a viable pregnancy. Because my pregnancy lasted less than a week, I had not even had the time to process it. It might sound crazy, but finding out I was no longer pregnant made me feel both relieved and hopeful.

Where I Find My Friends
I am pretty intuitive - just ask anyone who knows me. That being said, I boldly started a conversation with another mother at Whole Foods about a month ago. As it has been recounted to me, I went up to her and said, "Hi. I'm Cara. Nice papoose."
I like to think I didn't sound so dorky. But I did. The thing is, I wear my baby. My husband wears our baby. And this petite woman was wearing her baby too! Even better, she had on the coolest coat ever! It was a special one made with extra fabric to cover a baby in a carrier. I thought it was brilliant. And I knew instantly that I would like her. In moments I found out her little guy was just two weeks younger than mine and she lived four blocks away. A match made in heaven! Playdates! BFFs!
